If you read my stories you will find out a lot about me. Much of my childhood and teenage years were spent growing up in suburban Australia in the 1970s and 1980’s. I spent a lot of time camping with friends, swimming in local rivers and creeks, having sleepovers with mates and generally hanging out with other boys from our small community.
Many holidays were spent staying with my grandmother. While at her home I was more free to stay out all day with friends. We would jump off the local jetty and swim from early morning until late in the evening. Sometimes we wouldn’t even go home for lunch. Swimming and spending time together was more important than eating.
As I look back through my rose colored glasses, even school was a good experience. As long as you had your mates around, nothing seemed to get us down.
It’s only now in my twilight years that I look back and envy the youngster I once was. So you might read my stories and imagine me as one of the characters, or maybe a mixture of several characters. I also think you could read my stories and discover that the characters or stories might just be what has come from my imagination or perhaps wishful thinking.
As you have discovered on my Welcome Page, my writing is also a therapeutic release of emotions and traumas from my past. I hope you will perhaps understand or relate or at least accept some of my storylines. I do not want to add to anyones own trauma or experience. However, if my stories raise concerns for you, please reach out to some of the services I have included on my Resources Page.
I am a full time carer for my father and a writer to keep my sanity. I hope you enjoy my thoughts as I put pen to paper.
As always…
“Thanks for Reading”
